Here’s How Long it REALLY Takes to Rank on Google [Infographic]
Honestly, we all know Google ranking is important and don’t need another SEO expert to tell us that.
What we NEED to know is, How do we do it?
How do we rank our posts #1 on Google?
Thankfully, The Website Group created this helpful infographic that will break down the steps and show you what it takes.
Fair warning:
There’s no magic recipe or formula. You can’t jump the SEO queue overnight.
But neither can your competitors! So if you’re up for the challenge, here’s the first tip:
Be patient. SEO is a long game and ranking on page #1 will take some time. You’ll feel more empowered if you know what you’re in for from the start.
Secondly, broaden your knowledge. Understand why keywords are the foundation of your strategy, how they work, and how to harness the power of Google Analytics to grow your business.
Then you’ll see that ranking isn’t hard. It simply requires learning a new skill – one that can completely transform your business.
Be sure to grab the SEO Checklist we use to optimize your blog posts quickly and easily so you can get more traffic from Google. 👇
With online tools at your disposal, you won’t have to pay someone a fortune to improve your Google ranking anymore. Just implement one tool at a time and you’ll eventually see the results.
And if you’re already active on social media, you’re going to love this news:
Social media plays a huge role – not only for SEO but for all your marketing. Because you’re out there being social and interacting with your customers (you are, right?), you’re finding out what they REALLY want related to your products and services. Then all you have to do is give it to them.
Here’s that infographic:
As a newbie blogger it’s something I have to remind myself of quite frequently. That it’s a waiting game and I need to be patient. Thanks for the reminder!
You’re so welcome, Alexandra.
I’d be interested in knowing which is your favourite tool for tracking rankings and keywords? Do you have one that you use consistently or do you use a few different ones? I’m always tossing up between ahrefs and semrush, but sometimes I wonder if there’s a better tool out there?
Thanks for sharing the infographic, it was super informative 🙂
I like Ahrefs and SERPWatcher by Mangools – love all their products actually. They’re super intuitive and easy to use. I’m glad the infographic was helpful!
This is a very interesting read and as a new blogger will help keep me from getting discouraged as I really didn’t know that it can take years I thought there was a secret recipe out there somewhere. Thank you.
SEO is such a huge component of blogging and so important. Its great that you noted that it’s not a sprint but more of a marathon! Thanks for this!
Very useful info, I guess it confirmed that yes, it is all about hard work and patience.
Looking forward to seeing my blog rank #1 some day 🙂
This is so interesting! Does this take into account Google’s updates and algorithm changes? I have a few posts that are ranking on the second and third pages of Google but nothing first place yet. Still working at it!
Hey Rebecca, as far as I know it does. 🙂
SEO is such a beast to learn, especially for those of us in the health care or service industry. We got into blogging to help make a difference in peoples lives, not to master technical google stuff. There are only so many hours in a day… Thank you for the helpful tips!
A new website takes at least 7-8 months to rank for a low and medium keyword. And ranking high for competitive keywords take patience and over a year.
